The Hawthorn Hood residence, designed by the renowned BENT Architecture, is a stunning renovation extension project located in a suburban area of Australia. The clients, a professional couple with primary school-aged twins, approached the studio with the desire to enhance their existing house. However, upon further investigation, it became evident that the limitations of the house and site would compromise the design.
In order to better cater to the long-term needs of our clients, we embarked on a quest to find a more suitable house and site. A thorough evaluation led us to identify a shortlist of preferred suburbs, streets, and orientations, which formed the basis of a targeted letter-drop campaign. As a result, we successfully acquired the ideal project site. With time being of the essence, design discussions commenced promptly, culminating in the creation of a forever home that is not only flooded with natural light but also meets all our clients' requirements.
This remarkable project, spanning 451m², is a testament to the creativity and expertise of the BENT Architecture team. Working with esteemed suppliers such as Caesarstone, Classic Ceramics, De Fazio Tiles and Stone, Ironbark, James Hardie, Laminex, Lysaght, New Tech Wood, Signorino, Stone and Slate Discounts, Urban Edge Ceramics, Vergola, and Winspear Group, we were able to bring our vision to life. The interior design was skillfully executed by the talented team at Bent Architecture, while the construction was carried out by Arundel Constructions. The structural engineering aspect of the project was expertly handled by Clive Steele Partners.
Led by the visionary architects Paul Porjazoski, Michael Germano, Joanna Butler, Tilde Sheppard, Merran Porjazoski, and Lana Blazanin, the dedicated project team worked tirelessly to bring the Hawthorn Hood residence to fruition. Their efforts have resulted in a remarkable addition to the Hawthorn community, setting a new standard in architectural excellence.
