Inspired by the dramatic imagery in Palladio’s Venice, this historically accurate home sits high atop the hills of Montecito, with stunning views reaching out over Santa Barbara and beyond to the Pacific. Though the space is absolutely elegant with its stone-inlaid wood floors, fireplaces hand-carved in Italy and limestone arches, the livable size makes it cozy and inviting. At the owner’s behest, no compromises were made on authenticity or quality and SFA took a special pride in selecting the very best finishes and furnishings. Custom-made chandeliers from the oldest Murano factory in Italy shimmer beneath hand-painted grotesque frescos on the ceilings, while antique tapestries, 19th century paintings and Florentine statues perfectly accent the home’s exquisite architecture.
