Evite, the leading digital social-planning platform, embarked on a mission to create a new workspace that would not only attract talent and foster innovation but also enhance its brand. Located in Glendale, CA, the 23,686-square-foot space needed to reflect Evite’s core mission of bringing people together to celebrate life’s meaningful moments.

IA Interior Architects collaborated closely with Evite’s leadership team through visioning sessions to define the project drivers. The design needed to include a versatile event space suitable for a variety of client functions. Additionally, the new workplace needed to be an inviting environment that would encourage staff to bring their families after hours and on weekends to connect and socialize.

The design team developed a comprehensive program and occupancy strategy to address these goals. A key challenge was the technical coordination for the second-floor assembly space, which features entertainment and hospitality areas, including a theater, assembly lounge, photo studio, filming kitchen, game lounge, bar, speakeasy, and commercial kitchen. This floor is designed to be a vibrant hub for various activities, integrating technology and comfort to create an engaging experience for both employees and clients.

The third floor’s design was tailored to meet the needs of the marketing, design, and software engineering teams. This floor features open workstations that promote collaboration, complemented by dedicated conference rooms for focused meetings. A café and a patio offer spaces for relaxation and informal gatherings, enhancing the overall workplace environment. The two floors are connected by an elegant internal stair, promoting seamless interaction between the different areas. All-gender restrooms are also included, reflecting Evite’s commitment to inclusivity.

The new Evite workplace blends natural materials and playful elements to create a timeless and flexible environment. Warm tones, limewash paint, walnut wood, and glass office fronts create a welcoming atmosphere. Rich leather furnishings and flexible furniture arrangements allow for easy reconfiguration of spaces to suit different needs. Brick veneer adds a touch of rustic charm, while vibrant greenery brings a sense of life and energy into the office.

Noteworthy features include a speakeasy bookcase entry wall that adds an element of surprise and fun, aligning with Evite’s playful brand identity. The large conference room with an operable wood opening provides flexibility for different types of meetings and events. An employee pantry offers a cozy space for staff to unwind and socialize, further enhancing the sense of community within the office.

The design also incorporates a filming kitchen to further support Evite’s operations. The game lounge and bar area provide spaces for relaxation and entertainment, fostering a positive work-life balance.

Through strategic planning and thoughtful design, IA transformed Evite’s new building into a dynamic and inviting environment that aligns with the company’s mission. The result is a multipurpose venue that celebrates Evite’s brand and love of bringing people together, creating a comfortable ambiance that serves as more than just a workplace.
