AAID was approached by OQT to refurbish its offices in DIFC. The project involved refurbishing the existing space on level 7 and fitting out a new space on level 6. The design objective was to prioritise employee well-being.

On level 7, the plan was to transform the office environment into a more welcoming space with open offices, various work areas, collaborative zones, and a motivational colour scheme.

Level 6 was dedicated entirely to enhancing employee wellness. This included creating a wellness area featuring a gym, yoga room, and meditation space. Additionally, there would be mixed-use areas where employees could engage, work, and unwind, including a games area for entertainment. Quiet hubs would be set up for relaxation and private calls, while a staff cafe with versatile seating and a hospitable ambiance would provide a place for employees to relax and socialise.

Drawing inspiration from the Movement of Energy, our design captures the dynamic landscapes and transformational power of nature. The design echoes the ebbs and flows of nature, from the serenity of sunrise to the vibrancy of sunset. This concept, rooted in the contrasts of textures, colors, and materials, translates into a space that seamlessly transitions from vibrant client-centric areas to tranquil work and wellness zones. By intertwining architectural forms, fluidity, and natural materials, we have created an inviting, comfortable, and collaborative environment.

At the heart of the office lies the multipurpose area, an informal auditorium with tiered seating, a gaming zone, and a lounge. This area is expertly complemented by a bespoke and tailored flooring layout. The serviced café offers a luxurious setting with diverse seating options, all framed by a sculpted ceiling symbolizing nature’s transformative prowess. The majlis, overlooking the Museum of the Future, masterfully blends light earth tones with vibrant decorative elements, evoking a sense of refined luxury. The boardroom, a technological marvel, accommodates over 20 occupants and boasts meticulous details, including camel-colored leather seating and a custom veneered starburst table.

The reception area, a fusion of formality and warmth, offers playful yet richly textured seating. This space serves as a striking prelude to the rest of the office. The primary circulation path is guided by bespoke layered, sculpted ceilings and framed by exquisite brass metal detailing. These elements come together to create a workspace that is both functional and visually captivating.

Our commitment to a vibrant and energetic ambiance is reflected in the selection of clean and simple finishes. Soft finishing and concentrated color pockets create a rhythm that energizes the space. Opulent materials like marble, brass metal, and velvet upholstery are juxtaposed with vibrant acoustic walls and textured coverings. The incorporation of bespoke rugs and inset carpets introduces an additional layer of luxury. The challenges posed by curved surfaces were met with innovative solutions, showcasing our dedication to delivering excellence in execution.
