- Gensler was tasked with delivering Vestar a cohesive space for work in Phoenix, Arizona.
- A leader in the world of retail real estate, Vestar challenged Gensler to create a revamped workplace that embodies their mission of creating “unique destinations with a sense of place.”
- Vestar’s workspace is located along Phoenix’s central business district, a location they have been working from since 1989. As the firm expanded, the original workspace struggled to accommodate the growth, resulting in fragmented suites lacking cohesion and departmental synergy.
- To address this challenge, Vestar and Gensler collaborated to create a new workplace destination that uses a mix of focus and social amenities to energize the office and cultivate collaboration. The new office places Vestar’s team together in a two-story open office. The double-volume and low entry challenged Gensler’s design team to find a thoughtful balance in proportions, making scale, volume and lighting critical tools.
- The hospitality-forward space is equipped for an agile work style and captures natural daylight. Warm wooden accents and a neutral color palette offer a sense of ease, while the tactile felt walls aid in acoustics. Sightlines were leveraged to lead clients’ and team members’ eyes to specific, curated moments throughout the interior, which support the Vestar brand and encourage meaningful interactions.
- Amenities include open and enclosed collaboration spaces, tech-enabled meeting rooms to support a hybrid workplace, a high-end coffee/cocktail bar, and unique concierge reception centered around a large community table.
- Vestar’s ground floor location offers access to the outdoors through the integration of a newly designed patio. This multi-functional amenity creates a strong indoor/outdoor connection, provides access to fresh air, show off the views toward Camelback Mountain, and provides flexibility to act as a pre-function lounge, impromptu meeting space and support Vestar community events.
