Brothers Dressler at IDS11
At the 2011 Interior Design Show in Toronto, the brothers Jason and Lars Dressler exhibited a variety of their woodwork.
Jason and Lars Dressler are twin woodworkers who build furniture and other objects with a respect for material, process and craftsmanship. By focusing on creating at a local craft level, they are able to design and produce all of their custom furniture and batch production pieces out of their studio workshop in Toronto, Canada.
Brothers Dressler look for opportunities to repurpose and upcycle salvaged objects, materials and waste streams. An effort is made to use materials which are locally harvested or from suppliers with a similar respect for the environment and those that dwell in it. Because the nature of their work is defined by the specific elements that go into each piece, they embrace the constraints inherent in each project and use them to focus the possibilities to create captivating objects. In creating their numbered series, limited editions, one-of-a-kind objects and made-to-order commission work, they strive to maintain a small footprint.
