Departing from pedagogical workshop Critical Context, the unit masters and workshop participants are given the chance to study architecture that not only connect space as a working network, but also how they connect themselves with the reality of building. The 10-days-event aimed to find an answer on the challenges of human exile that is present on the ins and outs of architecture.
Critical Context is a pedagogical workshop laboratorium for architectural education in Indonesia, which was initiated in 2017 by a group of architects and architecture professionals.
On this project, we collaborated with Critical Context Bandung 0.2 to make a design exhibition with a visual approach that emphasized on the process of the participants and their thoughts.
The site is located in the urban area of Bandung Utara, where the stream of Cikapundung river divided two residential areas (bukit Dago & Cimbuleuit) with a shallow depth of riverbed.
To respond the exhibition concept, we used wooden materials (Timber Cut Signage) from the residual of the bridge making, to be made into the exhibition signages.
