Berlin & Warsaw-based design studio of Jan Garncarek produces handcrafted furniture and lightning pieces characterised with an artistic approach that creates lifelong treasures.

We first introduced Garncarek’s Metropolis limited-edition collection in our Collectible Design Fair 2020 report, and today we are taking a closer look at this unique series of Table Lamps, Wall Sconces and Pendants.

Metropolis celebrates what is most beautiful in brass. The lamps are made by hand using traditional methods of metalworking and other related crafts that are nowadays slowly fading into obscurity.

Metropolis is created as a result of Garncarek’s fascination with the possibilities offered by metallurgy. Thanks to the natural properties of brass, lamps will develop an elegant patina finish over time.
