Melbourne-based custom furniture makers Beeline have built a reputation for understated designs with unexpected materials, creating pieces with a modern aesthetic that also have a timeless appeal. Most recently, the brand has expanded their Ridge collection 18 months since inception, adding to it the Ridge Dining Table and Ridge Console. The range takes inspiration from the corrugated iron sheds that shape the Australian rural landscape, with seamless faceted bases and round tops. A bold colour palette of cranberry, raspberry and black stain bases can be teamed with either marble or timber tops and is suited to both residential interiors and commercial applications. A new take on the classic round dining table, the Ridge Dining Table was born from Beeline interpreting the needs of their clients, seeking an investment piece that would also withstand the rigours of daily use. The design takes cues from existing pieces in the collection, with the introduction of American Oak as a surface option adding a new aesthetic to the range. The Ridge Console is based on the existing Ridge Bench seat, with its scaled-up columns making an elegant statement piece. Timbers are all sustainably sourced from FSC certified suppliers, and each piece is designed to maximise the use of the material and minimise wastage; the majority of waste is recycled into other Beeline pieces. The brand also works with other local businesses to recycle their unused materials and divert them from landfill. Couple Lucy Grant and Adam Brislin are behind Beeline Design, who conceptualise and manufacture the furniture from their Preston workshop. The brand now exports to international markets, regularly specified for projects in China, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and the USA. A new showroom is set to open in Thomastown in early 2020, and until then the Ridge range is available to view by appointment in the Preston workshop. - 转载自:Yellowtrace
