    During Milan Design Week 2017, italian brand Mingardo presented 10 new products created by 7 designers. Titled “THE ICONIC HANDICRAFT”, the new collection was imagined and organised by the brand’s new artistic director and a talented young designer, Federica Biasi.
    Federica has recognised a great potential in the Mingardo products and has proposed a strong synergy within the existing collection. The new collection aims at emphasise the sign and the iconography of the products, combining matter and craftsmanship. Each product is unique: art works in which the artisan and the artist assume equal positions and find a common ground in virtuous objects that glorify the Italian history, renowned for its precious handcraft and the excellence of its design.
    Mingardo wanted this presentation to emphasise the relationship between design and architecture, which has always characterised the works of the company. From the first collaborations with Carlo Scarpa until today, the constant dialogue with great teachers and designers has helped to enrich the language of the company and its techniques.
    “I worked closely with the designers to create a product able to communicate the ‘Mingardo’ style and at the same time to express the style of each designer. In each product I have tried to infuse conciseness and a distinctive style. Collaborations, know-how, capabilities, and the dialogue between the company and designers have helped to create unique products, which make me very proud of the work we are carrying on with Daniele Mingardo”, stated Federica Biasi.
