Fabian Zeijler is a young, ambitious designer who recently graduated from the highly acclaimed Design Academy Eindhoven. During his studies, Fabian established himself as a designer focused on the balance between the three following factors – practicality, comfort and aesthetics. This criteria determines the shape and the outcome of his designs, resulting in simple, minimalistic and refined product. For his graduation thesis, Zeijler designed ‘Momentum’ and ‘Pūrificātum’ – two products concerned with the purity of air. ‘ Pūrificātum’ is a personal air purifier. Poor air quality can be detrimental to the daily life of a person – especially indoors, creating a bad environment that can lead to discomfort and adverse health effects. Fabian designed a desktop version and a tall, standing version of the purifier to suit different applications. People often refer to dry air or low humidity as the cause of health problems such as anxiety, headaches, dizziness and fatigue. Nonetheless, the causes of these health issues are mostly poor ventilation or air contamination. Improving the user’s comfort and health, the filtered air helps to increase productivity.
‘Momentum’ is a series of aerometers that give off subtle warnings if the indoor air quality needs to be improved. Instead of beeping or blinking, these devices start rotating silently when they detect high levels of pollution, low humidity or low oxygen. Abstract, poetic and tranquil, their appearance reveals what they stand for – a pale blue drop to indicate water, a matte black disc for pollution and a white half sphere with a transparent top for ventilation. Fabian Zeijler’s graduation work was on show during Dutch Design Week (17th – 25th of October 2015) at Witte Dame in Eindhoven. - 转载自:Yellowtrace
