Pandolfini Architects bring coastal tranquillity to a holiday home that spans fieve single-level pavilions in Sorrento,Victoria.
Pandolfini Architects have designed a series of five united A-framed structures that centre around a courtyard and pool, inspired by the nostalgia and simplicity of holiday homes of the past.Each maintaining a compact and sustainable footprint through the use of solar panels and external shutters, Pandolfini Architects’ connected approach to architecture focuses inward to encourage familial congregation.
Each pavilion has direct access to the communal courtyard alongside a secluded outdoor area.The pavilions are linked by glass walkways, creating a compelling connection to the outdoors. The exterior is composed of weathered timber and bagged brickworkin Porter's Paints'Milk – the perfect neutral backdrop for the lush landscaping by Fiona Brockhoff Design.
Inside, materialshave been kept pared-back and unpretentious, relaying the natural tones of the coast. Custom polished concrete with white quartz keeps the home cool in summer, complemented by white aluminium windows and white linear wall panelling.
The open-plan kitchen,diningand livingarea is separated by a two-way fireplaceatop a concrete plinth. A nod to the beachside locale, eyes are immediately drawn to the pale blue cabinetry in the kitchen with brass joinery handles.The kitchen also features premium wolf appliances. Woven pendant lightson coloured wire inject a playful sense of personality.
High pitched ceilings and vast openings create a sense of understated luxury in the home, grounded with custom timber furniture, neuteal rugsand textural bed linen. With access to a small courtyard, themaster ensuitelifts cues from a rustic Moroccan aesthetic with traditional mosaic tiles and Anchor Ceramic swall sconces. A freestanding bath captures the serene spirit of the home.
The outdoor livingarea caters to all age groups. An in-ground trampoline and pool in the backyard provide entertainment for the children, while a pool house and spa can be enjoyed by the adults.
