Inspired by our recent interview with designer Donna Wilson, weve selected five of the most beautifully designed childrens rooms from properties currently on the market with, or sold by, The Modern House.
Lissenden Mansions, London NW5
Set within a sensitively-modernised three-bedroom apartment near Hampstead Heath, this room is both minimal and playful, with polka dot walls, colourful toys and patterned linen. Bay windows fill the room with daylight, and open directly out onto a private balcony.
Mornington Terrace, London NW1
This 19th-century five-bedroom home was reimagined by Undercover Architecture, with interiors by Estelle Changresinghe. The childrens rooms all feature distinctively-framed ‘roofed beds, and coordinating window shutters.
The Water Tank, Keeling House, London E2
This extraordinary penthouse sits atop Denys Lasduns Keeling House. The apartment has a single bedroom on the 18th floor. The room contains a built-in, raised OSB bed with a childs bunk beneath. The steps next to the sleeping area contain concealed storage, whilst a childs shelving unit sits at the foot of the bed.
West Hill Court, London N6
This Art Deco apartment was sold by The Modern House in 2016. The bedroom has large Crittall windows and a bespoke wall of storage including a fold-down desk.
Canonbury Grove, London N1
Sold by The Modern House in 2013, this three-bedroom house has interiors by Faye Toogood. The nursery, as with the rest of the house, combines period features with contemporary design, including the original wide wooden floorboards covered by a Larusi rug.
