A tribute to Monsieur Dior's Parisian town mansion at 30 avenue Montaigne, the brand's ?agship Fine Jewellery Boutique was recently revamped by Peter Marino at 8 place Vend?me. Organised as a succession of small private salons, the secretive two-storey boutique is cleverly arranged around a luminous atrium. Dramatic on the one hand, the entrance features graphic flooring in stone and black marble emphasised by a balustrade and railings in the style of Jules Hardouin-Mansart, architect of place Vend?me. Subtle on the other, the new space evolves around a range of Dior grey 'Medallion' chairs upholstered in silk, velvet and leather, while an array of art works and design pieces - Damien Hirst's Judas the Disciple; a monumental chandelier by Lee Bul; a table sculpture by Philippe Hiquily; side tables by Juan and Paloma Garrido - create a unique, bejewelled environment.
