HEADQUARTER designed by piero lissoni 2007
Living Divani's headquarters in Anzano del Parco, province of Como, is a two-storey building providing a total of 1140 square metres of floor space, contiguous to the production implant of 11.000 square metres. It fits seamlessly into the surrounding environment, in which light plays a major role. The building was designed by Piero Lissoni to express the spirit of the company, its philosophy and its approach to design, which have combined to make it a benchmark in the international upholstery scene.
A transparent, horizontal block, a box of light, wrapped in a double skin of glass – u-glass plates with panes behind them – which, as if keeping a beat, mark out the rhythm of the sun's daily path across the sky, designing new relations between interior and exterior, public and private.
The structure is made of exposed galvanized steel in natural and white-tinted hues, painted using eco-friendly, photocatalytic paints to minimise pollution.
The building's two levels are interrupted by interior courtyards created artificially.
The interior space flows uninterrupted, in a telescope-like perspective that offers an unimpeded view, with transparent glass walls modulating volumes, so that the detachment between different parts of the building fades away.
The ground floor is dedicated to office space, whilst the ethereal and neutral upper floor provides a backdrop for the Living Divani collections. |
