The Scotts Tower is the first development under the Far East Organization’s SOHO brand, which plans to redesign Singapore to conserve space. Acting as a vertical neighborhood, the tower is constructed to represent different zones that would normally sprawl out across a city block. A variety of residence types, public park areas, retail spaces, and restaurants are dispersed throughout the complex, which is capped off with a sustainable green roof.
Each neighborhood within the tower will be made up of the different types of residence styles, which will suit the needs of each resident. Neighborhoods will be composed of open and airy loft-style units, 1 to 3 bedroom apartments, and large 4 bedroom penthouses. Rather than a lobby, the ground floor will be a lush public garden space that extends through the second level. An additional public green will be located on the 25th floor. This “sky terrace” will give tenants a unique green experience, fusing city views with greenery. The top floor gardens are designed for private use by the penthouse tenants.
Residents can also enjoy public spaces such as balconies, a lap pool, a sun deck, a kid’s pool, BBQ areas and a gym, along with lounge and dining areas. UNStudio’s concept for vertical living drastically transforms the idea of what constitutes a neighborhood. The all-inclusive vertical solution is an innovative approach to our world’s rapidly growing population.
