简介：Amelia Tavella was born in Corsica and saw in the island’s beautiful landscapes a gateway to new horizons. In 2018, she was named “a rising star of French architecture” by the “Choiseul Ville de Demain” ranking amongst the top 100 young leaders shaping the city of the future” compiled by the Choiseul Institute, one of the most influential think tanks in France.
This was a new honour for Amelia Tavella who was awarded the 2018 Pierre Cardin prize by the French Academy of Arts under the dome of the Institut de France and is the recipient of 2016 Young Woman Architect Award. The Choiseul Institute, promoters of talent, underlined the specific artistic approach that characterises Amelia Tavella’s work.
Her creations are a testament to her architectural signature, a sensuality and love of noble materials, stones, wood, copper, terra cotta honed by skilled craftsmen. They are also the hallmark of an unwavering effort to evoke the memory of the places: the persistent desire to foster the unification of a poignant context and an architectural creation whose envelope, the dermis, represents the sensors.

This poetic creative process is demonstrated by her various projects such as the Porticcio Cultural Center, the School A Strega, the Edmond Simeoni School and Cultural Center, the Saint-François Convents in Sainte-Lucie de Tallano and in Bonifacio, the urban landscaping of the Citadel and the genoese city in Ajaccio as well as the Simone Veil School in Villeurbanne, the Henry Tomasi music conservatory with Rudy Ricciotti or the bastide flagship in Aix-en-Provence.
