Natalie Jones' live/work space in Bruton, Somerset
Inspired by our recent interview with Natalie Jones, designer and founder of Caro Somerset, were exploring how to decorate with dark colours. Weve selected six of our sales listings with richly-coloured interiors, to provide design inspiration for dramatic interiors.
Chailey Street, London E5
This four-bedroom modern house sits behind a Victorian facade in Clapton. The interiors were re-imagined by Studio 304. The double reception room has been painted in a dramatic dark blue, with white ceilings, exposed wood floors and a large original bay window.
Mornington Terrace, London NW1
This family home, on the fringes of Regents Park, has beautifully designed interiors by Undercover Architecture. Navy blue is used throughout the kitchen, living and outdoor spaces whilst vast sash windows bring light into the space.
Telfords Yard, London E1
Sitting on the third floor of a handsome former industrial warehouse near Tower Hill is this impeccable apartment with interiors by award-winning designers Landmass London. The double-aspect living space includes a meticulously-designed black kitchen that revolves around a central island. The matt finish of the kitchen is offset by the exposed brick walls and herringbone parquet floor.
Shacklewell Lane, London E8
This Dalston apartment is in the first floor of a Victorian conversion, and has dark hardwood flooring and high ceilings. The walls of the main living space are painted in a deep green, and accompanied by an eclectic selection of vintage furniture.
Eagle Mansions, London N16
This apartment sits on the first floor of a turn-of-the-century mansion block in Dalston. Bold colours are used throughout the space, from dark green in the reception room to navy in the master bedroom. Plants, along with brightly-coloured textiles and furniture, are used throughout to add vibrancy.
Minerva Street, London E2
This east London apartment was completed in 2016 to a design by Fraher Architects. The kitchen has beautifully-crafted built-in cupboards designed by Shape Studio, with charcoal lino fronts and ply-edge detail. The adjoining dining area has solid Douglas Fir walls, and opens directly out to the surrounding terrace.
