Hotel Interior Design with Low Cost Furniture – Hotel La Banane To breathe in new elements, the new owner Jean-Marc Israel wanted to set a new experience. With the help of Benjamin Fabbri, he combined his love of collectibles and interior design as a tribute to the heroes of modernism. The unity of place is emphasized by the intelligent and joyful response of graphic artists ICH & KAR which add to the new visual identity of the hotel.
The hotel becomes the object of attention paid to every detail. Inside, the design of structures is highlighted in white, yellow, very 50’s covers the wall of the lobby and on the floor, ceramic tiles register the design of a carpet of blue circles, while in the rooms bathroom open on the outside, translucent glass turquoise stones are reluctant to discuss the waves or the heavens.
With patience and diligence, Jean-Marc Israel has assembled a coherent set of these rare works, a legacy of a fruitful encounter between postcolonial India and the ideals of European culture in flux. These pieces illustrate the furniture designed to equip the various public buildings in the city: armchairs, chairs, benches, tables, desks … locally made by artisans in India, according to the program “Low Cost Furniture”.
In the blink of an eye, the nine rooms of the house divided into two categories (”Banana Extra” – room 30 m2 with private terrace overlooking the tropical garden and “Banana Deluxe room of 40 m2 with private terrace overlooking the swimming pool, tropical garden or front) bear the name of one of those artists who have so successfully defined a language based on comfort, quality and sense of aesthetics.
